Snow weekend and baking Valentines cookies

Snow weekend and baking Valentines cookies

My family and I have spent the last few days at home while the weather here in Portland amazes us with it’s winter wonderland. Being from Minnesota, this does not shock me, however others in the Pacific Northwest are not as equipped to handle such drastic weather.

I decided that we should do things that I did as a child on snow days. We went sledding, played games, baked cookies and read books. My youngest, Ryan went sledding with my husband Scott and he just loved being outside. My oldest, Jackson really wanted none of that, he spent time working on school work and playing those dreadful video games.

So I baked cookies, read books and could convince no one to play a game. Since Valentines is coming up and as a child my mom and Grandma made cut out cookies for the occasion, I did too. I also spent time un-packing items for Peonies & Possibilities that I purchased at the Atlanta Gift Show. You must come to the store to see how much it has changed since the Christmas holiday has been over.

I guess all in all Mother Nature has a way to let us all relax and get caught up on our to do list and get caught up on sleep!
